I don't remember the 770 being discussed here but I just saw a blurb
about it in a PC magazine and checked IBM's web page. It is AWESOME.
I've totally lost interest in 760's. Surprisingly the base model 770
(200 mhz Tillamook, 3 gb disk, 32 meg SD ram, 13.3" XGA TFT screen) is
advertised for around $5000 in the PC mag. This is less than the top
765 costs and it seems like a better machine in every way. The
flagship 770 with the 14" screen and 5 gb disk is around $7k. One
thing not clear from the web page is they've abandoned the 760's
tilting keyboard. They also seem to use a standard Crystal audio chip
instead of the ##($%&#% MWave. Plus there are improvements to the
Trackpoint, upgradability to 256M of ram, etc.
