This is a common questin on alt.windows95.
There's some thread which isn't shutting down properly when you go into
suspend. The most common cause of this is running IE4, the second is
not having the most current BIOS revision. Check to see which programs
are running before you try to suspend, and eliminate them one by one
until you don't have the problem.
Two more suggestions: try to suspend from the start/suspend button
instead of the TP hardware button (this does a better job of resolving
W95 threads before suspension), and/or try to suspend from the DOS PS/2
program (which you probably wiped before installing W95, but should find
and reinsall).
BTW, before changing from 701 to my 560 I was running OSR2 w/no problem.
