Yes and no; early versions of doublespace (like the one with OSR1, like you have) had some
problems (though are still safer than FAT32). If you can get the later version (i.e.,
with Plus!, or the even later version off someone's OSR2 CD - it might even be available at
the MS web site, though somehow I doubt it), this is quite stable. Still, it is a good idea
not to compress the whole drive. What I do is create a 'virtual' compressed drive D, on which
I put noncritical stuff (i.e., everything I need to boot, and all mission-critical files
go on C, everything else [including Office 97] on D. Works very well - I had a very usable
system even on my old 701, with a 340meg HD.
