Heeeeeelppp! (360PE)

I've been diddling around with my 360PE and have hit another snag.

I just bought a 40MB PCMCIA III hard disk (mainly because I've had no
experience with PCMCIA and now wonder if I want to :)

It's a Western Digital drive. It plugs into slot 2 (no other options).
When I run EZPLAY (this is a PC DOS 7 system with PenDos) it identifies
the card, but I think incorrectly. Here's what the first screen looks
like:

Socket Information

No. Status Card Type Card Information
1 Empty
2 Ready Memory E:
3 Empty
4 Empty

It looks like it thinks it's an SRAM card to me, but I don't know. When
I enter the detail screen it says "Write Protect: Yes" Huh? If I try
to F9/Init the drive it returns "Initialization error has occurred!".

Any ideas on this? Should I also have some kind of driver for the drive
itself? I'm just using the latest PCMCIA services disk I got from
ibm.com. Oh, and I've already checked and it DOES have the most recent
BIOS.

Anybody out there got any suggestions?

Thanks!
