That's what I did after Easy Serv sent the third battery within the first few months of owning my 701. Even worse is the fact that when using a PC card modem the battery lasts about 30 minutes. It's just a limitation I've learned to live with, because otherwise I'm very satisfied with the 701, the 3-year warranty, and IBM support. The 701 is a very unique machine! (All the more so because they don't make them anymore.)
