I use the Mwave modem in a 760CD, albeit under Win95.  The only time I
get the ERROR message is when the modem doesn't get a dial tone.  Once
it was a fault in the cable from modem to telephone point which required
new cable under warranty.  Otherwise just replugging the cable has
worked.

I don't think so but I connect to my ISP at 33.6 using
AT&F&D3&N0\\N5\\Q3S28=22\r
