755 keyboard replacement

Has anyone replaced a keyboard on a 755 series (I have a cx)?
Is it hard? Is it expensive? My keyboard works properly, so I
probably can't get it fixed under warranty (if my machine is still
under warranty, which I'm not sure of); but the keys are getting
stiff to type on and I'm fussy about that. I don't want to spend
a lot on this machine any more, because it's getting kind of old.
Unfortunately I don't like the 76x tilting keyboard, don't like the
380 series Neomagic video chip, can't afford a 770, and wouldn't
really see a 560 as an upgrade because of its lack of XGA display.
So I'm not sure what to do...
