My 3 years runs out next month so I just sent mine in. It came back with
another used keyboard although it does work a lot better. It doesn't look
very hard to do yourself although good eyesight or strong glasses will be
necessary as some of the screws are very small. You can order another
keyboard (84G6495 for USA English, US$84.75) and then IBM also has a couple
spare screw kits (66G5124 for the 755, US$14.75 and a generic 84G6560 for
Thinkpads, US$17.75) - one or the other of these might be a good idea
just in case something goes flying into the land of the lost... Then
there's the Hardware Maintenance Manual (82G1502, I already have this
so I didn't get a price) which has detailed instructions on how to do it.
There is a warning about not pulling on the three keyboard cables without
first releasing the connectors' latches or the cables will be damaged.
Anyway I'm planning on keeping my 755 a few more years so I'm ordering
a spare keyboard now why they're still available...
