Yeah, they are flex cables, and you have to be careful with them.  You pull
out on the tabs on the side of the connectors to pull the cables out.

Good idea.  Now all I need is a spare ThinkPad so I can finally send in my 701 for
a new keyboard.

Taking that apart is a LIVING NIGHTMARE (been there once before!).
