Thinkpad 365XD Floppy Drive

I have a TP 365XD with an external floppy disk drive, 24M RAM, 2.1G Hard
Drive, SlimSCSI PC Card and MegaHertz XJEM3288 Ethernet/Modem Card. I
have installed Win95 and OS/2 Warp 4 using Boot Manager. Everything
works reasonably well until I install Seagate BackupExec for Win95 while
booted to Win95. Once this is installed access to the floppy drive is
no longer available. Win95 seems to see it based on the fact that
System reports it is there and functioning correctly. When I try to
access it anyway though there is no response from the drive at all.
Interestingly though, the LED under the screen that indicates floppy
access lights but the LED on the drive itself does not light. If I
uninstall BackupExec, I regain access to the floppy as though there was
nothing wrong. Seagate has yet to offer any help or suggestions.
Anybody here be able to help??
