Thanks to all who replied.  I gently pried the left mouse button off (it
"jumped" off the keyboard --- I thought I had broken it at first ---
fortunately it is made of sterner stuff!) and added another strip of tape
over the switch.  After replacing the button, it felt more responsive than
before (although I still miss the click!).  Anyway, since it is working
fine, I don't think I'll risk an Easyserv.
