Thanks David, and I apologise.  You have mis-interpreted me!

I agree, you are not a slime, and I am sorry if you thought I was
referring to you.  Please accept my public apology!

I was referring to the micro$oft product, IE4.  For that matter, we could
extend the comment to darned near every m$ product that I have had the
misfortune of dealing with. 

In spite of the fact that you thought I was flaming you, you have
provided some helpful suggestions.  A mark of a true netizen, I
would say.

Thanks for your suggestions re. bios and video drivers and the appropriate
way to install m$ stuff. I have done the bios and will work on the video
one of these days when I feel compelled to run windoze again.
