Glass, metal, plastic, and the circuit boards. TFT's have more circuitry because they're
all digital, whereas DSTN and STN would be more analog (AFAIK).
If you think that's heavy, my SPARCbook is supposed to weigh 7.5 lbs, I'm assuming without
the battery (since I never got one with it), and it has NO CD-ROM nor floppy (a $595 option!),
however, it has a TFT and a 110MHz processor.
I guess it depends on what you're used to. I used to lug around my original IBM PC around when that
was my main computer, and that's 32 lbs., minus the heavy keyboard and CGA CRT!!!
