<<Well, I read about this issue a year or two ago. They seemed to think think that people who used touchpads would never choose a pointing stick, while pointing stick users didn't really care. My response to that was that no one ever asked ME! >> I find touchpads intolerable, I would not consider using any machine, desktop or notebook, that did not have a pointing stick. Make sure you pay ZERO attention to what anyone else says here, try out whatever you want to buy BEFORE you commit yourself to paying for it!!!! People have VERY different ideas about what is tolerable, let alone what is optimal and pleasant.
