RedHat 5.0 is a little different from previous incarnations of
Linux in that a lot of the sound drivers are precompiled into
the kernel, and (for SB support at least) recompiling the kernal
with sound explicitly enabled caused compile time errors for me.
You're supposed to run something called sndconfig or snd_config
or something like that which will search your hardware, ask you
for settings, and correctly configure everything.
