Nope, it uses a proprietary port/cable that also provides power (i.e. no need for more then the one cable) I gotta add that I just *love* the Ultrabay in the 770; whatever unit I choose to use there will hotswap like a dream( I regularly swap between FD, DVD and VST ZIP100).
