If you mean unplugging one drive and plugging in another, the only
things to be concerned about are:
1) Don't do it hundreds of times. I don't know what the connector
lifetime insertions rating is.
2) Make sure that you have a current BIOS installed, so the machine
will recognize large drives.
3) Make sure that you have a bootable floppy with sufficient drivers
to install an OS onto the new hard drive. If using a PCMCIA SCSI card
to talk to a CD-ROM drive, that would be particularly important. Test
the boot floppy by reading the CD-ROM before you do anything rash with
the old hard drive.
If you are talking about opening up the drive enclosure, removing the
drive from the little plastic box, replacing it with another drive,
and putting the little plastic box enclosure back together, someone
else will need to guide you. I've managed to avoid that fun so far.
