I had 40MB RAM, which I threw in with my DSTN 560 when I sold it.
Unloading a memory chip for anything *near* it's purchase value is
fool's dream I've been through to often to keep pulling chips hoping
to sell them. I've got an 8MB EDO SIMM that came free with the DSTN
560 that I'll most likely end up throwing away.

I haven't seen a performance difference other than less disk
accessing, it's neither faster nor slower, though I've heard arguments
for both happening. I got the 64MB chip from the Chip Merchant
(1-800-808-chip) for $128, exactly $21 more than I paid for the 32MB
chip less than 6 months ago. I had to reseat it twice before the
Thinkpad would recognize it, but it works fine now.
