on all of my machines i have created the hibernate file on a fat32 file
system..using osr2, of course, but i have niot tried this with win98-RC1, but i
will if you wish..
both automatically using the ps2 utility, AND manually, with a dos window under
win95-B (osr2)..

The 701 is a special case, since the hibernate file is created from the bios
and the bios does not neccessarily see a fat32 partition.. i am not certain,
since my 701's all use 2 or 3 or 4gig drives and the bios sure does not see
anything larger than 1gig.. all it will report is the remaining amount OVER the
1gig limit..so, what I do is create a small (43meg) partition, label it as
hibernate, and make it fat16..
thus the drive is a fat32 (4k clusters) except for the 43meg logical partition,
which is, i thing 1k clusters of less..
fat32 will see fat16 partitions.. the reverse is not neccessarily so, unless
you are using osr2/fat16 to 'see' the fat32 partition..
