Lee,
Then its time to start seriously hoping that IBM does a better job
building their hardware than writing their technical documentation!
Several IBM web pages list the graphics chipset as being from Trident
(including a page specifically for the model you mention above);
other web pages list it as being from NeoMagic.
On Apr 28 (the day the TP600 was released), I called IBM about it,
referred to the inconsistency in their web pages, but was confidently
assured, from their own internal documentation, that they use Trident.
Can I ask ... are you reeeeeeeely sure that your TP600 has a NeoMagic?
How do you know? Apologies for appearing to doubt your claim, but if
you perhaps got your info from the included documentation, then maybe
the documentation may have been incorrect? (we know that IBM is capable
of incorrect documentation, since at least one of their web pages must
be wrong).
This is all so stupid. Yo, IBM! -- get your act together on this!
Cheers, Joseph
