I know there are several folks on the list that have had problems
with the internal modem, but for me it has worked better than any 
other modem I've used (PCMCIA anyway). When the others don't connedt
or drop the internal keeps on trucking; case in point I d/l'ed NT4.0
service pack 3 from the net, all 40 MB, with the exception of one burp
it worked ok but took around 8hr.

If what you say is what you will be doing I would suggest you stay
with Win3.11/DOS. I've installed NT4.0 on my 701 and it run quite well
but to do so you need to max out RAM (40 MB) otherwise the HDD will
thrash endlessly. I went with NT because I have clients that run with
NT and I need to be compatable.
