Someone coming from a WYSIWYG environment probably won't be very
happy with TeX or LaTeX.  TeX uses the programmer's paradigm of
code, compile, and execute.  In TeX, you write, compile (run TeX
or LaTeX), and view.  Plus you have to insert all the formatting
commands by hand.
