Probably shouldn't, but I do this all the time. Never had a problem. I've 
done it with the mouse alone and with the mouse/keyboard adaptor a 
multitude of times. Perhaps I'm just beating the odds so far... Seems 
damned stupid to have to power off and on for the sake of a keyboard, as 
there are plenty of switching devices that will allow you to swap a 
single keyboard across many machines. The crappy ones are ~$25 and the 
more expensive are ~$60. Meaning that the difference is the $.37 diode or 
something. <grin> While I don't expect such components on a $10 
motherboard, my $3k 750 oughta be able to do it...
