Re: tp 755cd and 4x cd rom

I just got one of the 4X CD-ROM drives from someone that upgraded their 760
CD drive from 4X to 6X. The 4X (CD44E) does indeed work in my 755CD. It
basically fits, though it hangs out in front by a minuscule amount (maybe
1mm). It looks fine and seems to work fine. There is a grounding tab in the
back area of the cabinet that did make contact with the 2X drive (CD40E) but
doesn't with the 4X drive. I am hoping that will not be a problem.

So those of you planning to upgrade to 6X drives for the 760's may want to
consider advertising your 4X drives here for folks wanting to upgrade their
755CD's. It's better than having the old drives rot in the closet as I
expect will now happen to my 2X CD Drive.

Again, the 4X worked for me but I will not absolutely guarantee that it will
work for you. (my disclaimer)

Thanks
Mike Redmond
