I'd be cautious to use anything that don't dissipate the heat such as a
pillow or blanket.

I picked it up at a local consumer electronics store (Good Guys) for $20.
You might also try using a hardbound book, that's what I used to use..
keeps the heat away from you a lot better than a pillow if you have the
feet down..
