I've always fully discahreged the battery before recharging (per IBM instructions) and got close to 2 hours off a fully charged battery for the first 10 months of owning the computer. Uh Oh. there's part of the problem. The IBM manual doesn't instruct you too fully discharge your batteries before charging, infact it says just the opposite. Page 69n of the users manula says, Ünlike some battery packs, the TP 701C/701CS battery pack contains advanced technology batteries so you don't need to fully discharge the battery pack before you recharge it. In fact, forcing a complete discharge can actually reduce battery pack life."
