No, mine is quite flat and tight. Perhaps it is much more used than four
months?

Mine has no effect either. Not sure if it is a problem or just the way
the TFT screen works.

What kind of battery? Nicads have shorter life than NiMH. My NiMH
batteries get about three hours.

Think this is it. Sorry your used machine is not quite what you
wanted. I really like my 701, and find it very portable unlike some of
the more powerful machines.
