Hiralal,
We are a 3rd party vendor of 2.1gb HDDs for IBM machines. If you quoted the
pricing correctly, the price quoted you for the 2fb drive is around what we
now chage for our 3gb drive. The 2.1gb we sell is the Toshiba, a very high
quality drive. Our drive for the TP760 comes in the additional HDD Caddy. I
am sending you our upgrade catalog for your system. BTW - Did you know that
we can make the IBM systems hold a Total of 5 to 6gb of HDD Storage Space? By
installing a 2.1gb or 3gb HDD internally (current maximum depending on
system) and a 3gb HDD in our Parallel Port or PC Card Slot External HDD Shell
(current maximum), you can achieve a Total of 6 or 5gb of Storage Space. We
also have CPU upgrades for many of the IBM line. Please contact me if you hav
any other questions or needs.
Best Regards,
Michael

I was recently trying to buy the IBM's 2.1G hard disk drive for my 760CD
from a reseller. But he tried to convince me that I would be better off
buying a third party 2.0G disk made by a company called CMF. The prices
quoted were $1184 for the IBM 2.1G disk v/s $919 for the CMF 2.0G disk.
Has anyone had any positive/negative experience with using third party
disks on 760CD? Are there any other third party disk choices besides
CMF? Other than the price, what are some other pro's and con's of using
third party disks? I am sure using them would surely have an effect on
the machine warranty!
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
