I'm on my 4th battery, and this one actually seems to be the worst of all. On my system (also a 701), the reason the brightness controls are noticable is because adjustment is only available while using AC Power, but it still isn't much. I used to use a 355C, and its brightness controls were more noticable, but they could be adjusted when the machine was off, and it could also be used when on battery power. Another question for the list though: Has anyone with a 701 had any problems sending and recieving information through a terminal program when doing an Fn function which has the little icon on the screen, or if the AC Adapter is plugged in or taken out? I have had disconnections when this happens. Paul Khoury
