I hope someone can give me some pointers here because I'm about to pull out my
hair! I have a Thinkpad 760 ED and I love it. Just one minor point, I can't
connect to any networks!
I also have a 755CX that connects just fine to both my client's Novell server
and my Windows 95 peer-to-peer at home. Everything connects just fine when I
boot up this Thinkpad to whichever network.
However, with my 760ED, I can't see my client's server. No hint whatsoever
that it even exists. I've painfully checked to make sure that it is configured
exactly the same as my 755CX and still no luck. I even swapped network PC
Cards and the 755CX still finds the server so that isn't the problem.
When I'm at home, it gets even weirder. When I boot up the 760, I can connect
to any device via my Ethernet hub. However, when I try to access the 760 from
either my 755CX or my desktop, it can't find the damn thing! But this is the
strange part, when I shut down the PC Card (via Control Panel), eject it and
then reinsert it, I can then see the 760 from my other computers! Argghhhh!!!
I called IBM and they passed the buck and blamed Novell and 3Com. Needless to
say, I think it might have to do with Windows 95 but I completely uninstalled
all network support and then reloaded everything! Still no luck. I really
hate to have to uninstall everything and then reinstall Windows 95 if I can
circumvent this stupid problem quickly.
Any and all suggestions are welcome! Thanks in advance!
