So, I finally upgraded my TP750Cs to a TP760CD at Computer
Exchange on Tottenham Court Road in London. This is a 120
MHz 24MB 1.3GB TFT 800x600 MWAVE system. Since it came w/
limited documentation (e.g. proof of purchase included but
none of the manuals, cables, etc you get with new system),
I am curious about a few things.
I reinstalled Win95, and most of the Thinkpad 760CD stuff
from the IBM Thinkpad support site. Questions:
o What are the two tiny three pin miniature DIN like
connectors on the left side of the unit? One has
an icon that looks like a battery and the other one
has an icon that looks like a screen.
o What are the two miniature connectors above the
   docking port connector?
o Where do you plug in a phone when using MWAVE modem?
o Where is the joystick connector?
o Does anyone have IBM part numbers for ordering any
cables which might be necessary for routine use of
   the TP760CD?
o I gather this system comes with integral MPEG 2
decoder. Can I play MPEG movies from an external
4X CDROM through my Adaptec Slim SCSI adaptor?
o Where does one buy CD ROM MPEG movies like Casablanca?
o To confirm -- video resolution is limited on LCD to
   800x600 x 16 bits per pixel?
o What is outboard monitor resolution?
o How does one fit another disk drive, extra battery,
etc into the floppy drive (ultra) bay? What part
numbers are required as adaptors to use this bay?
o Where can I buy caddies to hold my OEM HD drives?
What thickness drive will the original IBM caddy
   hold? I have one IBM DPRA-21250 & one DCRA-22160
drive which I'd use if possible (17 mm height?).
o For linux -- video is Trident TGUI 9320 chipset?
Can linux speak to MWAVE audio chips?
o I seem to be missing cs3kit.exp from the OEM disk
images in WINDOWS\CABS. Is this important?
o Has anyone managed to get an old IBM Home and Away
14.4 KBPS modem & Ethernet Network Adaptor to work
   in the TP760CD?
o Has anyone used IBM VoiceType Dictation in TP760CD?
Thanks
