These are the video in and video out jacks.  You need the special cables
that come with the machine to use these.  It works with NTSC and PAL video
but not SECAM.

I believe one is a midi/joystick port and the other is for an external
floppy drive.

Don't you see a phone jack on the machine to plug in the phone line?  You
can only plug in the phone line from the wall to the thinkpad, there is
not a second jack to then connect from the thinkpad to a regular phone,
like you would find on other modems.

True, although with only 48,000 pixels on an 800x600 screen you wouldn't
be able to have more than 48000 colors at any one time.
