One thing to look out for, in Win95 original build, the OS doesn't power
down the PCMCIA slots properly when going into suspend, so you may still
have problems doing a hot swap if there are cards in the slot and
suspend time can be reduced. There are two fixes to this if you have
this problem. First you can use a FN key combo to manually flag the
PCMCIA card slots to power off. I found the answer in a text file
hidden on the IBM site. The key combo is Fn+F11 immediately followed by
Fn+Enter. This manual key combo worked for me. The other fix is to
install Win95 OS/R 2. Both which seems to address this problem and
takes care of powering down the PCMCIA slots automatically when
suspending. Both of these fixes worked for me (after IBM finally fixed
the hardware problem on my machine). Happy swapping.
