Re: Computer cases (was: Reliability of TP 560?)

A couple of thoughts -- CompAid used to sell "slipcases" which were a
"case" that didn't have handles, pockets, etc. Sort of a padded envelope
for your computer. I used one of these and made sure my computer was
between a couple of folders in my book bad (thus protecting from
sharp/cornered objects).

More recently, I use a computer briefcase made by Jordan (or somesuch) that
I found in CompUSA. It has a seperate area in the bag where you can put a
smaller computer case. I use one of the Targa "compact" cases -- it's
sized to hold my TP760CD and nothing else. I put it in the briefcase and
everything's fine.

Another option, perhaps better for you, is to go to a good camera/video
store -- preferably one that caters to the mid/high end amateur or
professional. You can buy plastic cases which are lined with foam -- you
remove the pre-cut foam blocks such that your equipment fits snugly.
(These are also advertised in video & photo magazines.)

Good luck!
