Re: Iomega ZIP vs. JAZ
Hi all
I use a Jaz drive on ThinkPad 760CD and Tecra 720CDT using the Adaptec
1460 SlimSCSI PCMCIA Card. It was easy to set up and has proved easy to
use. However, the first drive died after a few minutes. The supplier
replaced it and that has, so far, proved reliable and extremely useful
for backups and mass storage. I have no experience with Warp or Linux.
I couldn't get the Jaz to work on my Pentium tower system where I use a
NCR 53C810 SCSI card. The NCR ASPI driver kept rebooting the system and
when it eventually recognised the Jaz it re-set the BIOS so it wouldn't
recognise the SCSI adaptor at all - so I gave up and reverted to tape
backup on that system!
