The technician didn't know what he was talking about.  IBM's SSD (Storage
Systems
Division) is one of the biggest manufacturers of hard disks (including 2.5"
notebook
HDD's) in the world.  There are probably a few ThinkPad's which use Toshiba
drives, but many
Toshiba and Compaq notebooks use IBM drives.
