In there, you should check the device sheet, then modems, then the modem that's giving you problems. See if it's enabled under both docked and undocked hardware profiles. I think that might take care of your problem. As for the modem being on COM3, on my TP701, the internal modem is on COM1, the serial port on the Multiport is on COM2, leaving COM3 for the next modem.
