Josh,
Depending on what type of administrative tools you require, you may be
able to get away with an add-on to Win95 called Windows NT Server
Management Tools. This is available for free from Microsoft's Web site
and provides the following tools for administering an NT Server (assuming
you have administrator level privileges):
User Manager
Server Manager
Event Viewer
Allows changing/setting Permissions/Auditing/Ownership of files and
directories on an NT server.
I used the these tools on a TP360P (486SL33) with 12/20 MB of RAM for 8-9
months to perform administrative duties on an NT server. Other than
being slow, Win95 will run on this platform.
Goto the following Microsoft website and look for "Windows NT Server
Management Tools", it is near the bottom of the list. I believe the file
(nexus.exe) is a little over a 1MB in size.

I have a Thinkpad 500.
486 SLC50
12MB RAM
540 HD.
Is it possible to run WIN NT 4.0 on this little machine, or should I
avoid the idea altogether?
I'd like to have access to some of WIN NT 4.0's administrative tools so
I can do some things "remotely" to teh network at my work.
I understand NT needs a min of 11mb RAM to run, but will I be a
massichist by trying to run it on my TP500?
Your input is appreciated before I embark on this potentially futile
attempt at installing it.
