Weird, I have had LOTS of crashes, where I CAN'T even check the battery
(Fn-F2) or BIOS (Fn-F1) with OS/2 4.0.  I even had the memory recently replaced.

My guess is possibly hardware, if it is intermitant like that.  Try running the
diagnostics on it, maybe something will turn up.
