RE: [TP560] LCD Defect (was "Memory compatability")

Hi ,

I read about your problems with the 560 screen. Has it been fixed?
I'm thinking of getting a similar model as you have, the specs are:

Thinkpad 560-FNE
Pentium 133 mhz
8 mb Ram (max 40mb)
1.08 Gb HDD / 1.44 Ext. FDD
2 PCMCIA type II
16 bit stereo sound card
12.1" TFT SVGA color
Win95
Weight: 1.86kg
FREE: add. 8 mb Ram

Do you have any tips on how to check if it has the same screen defect?

Saw your review on the 560 at your web site ( hey, have you disabled the links? can't see it anymore). I have 2 questions:

1. Can you connect to an external keyboard, mouse and monitor at the same time?

2. Would you say the performance is comparable to a Desktop Pentium 60 mhz?
(just wanted to know what kind of performance trade-off I have to live with, in exchange
     for the portability)

Many thanks in advance.

PS: Merry Christmas everyone!

Subject: [TP560 -Are we still doing this, btw?] Memory compatability

Just cruised by The Chip Merchant's web site and saw an ad for 32MB
RAM chip for $107. The models listed were 365XD and the 760 line. Any
chance that these use the same modules as the 560, so I can place an
order tomorrow (well, today now)? And are they compatible with the
560X and E lines, for when I upgrade to one of them next year?
