My phone jack hasn't worked since I was forced to scrub my drive and re-install everything with the supplied recovery CD. ThinkPad phone support says it's most likely a hardware issue and that I should send it in. I'd rather not as I only use the phone jack when I'm out of town. My question is, could the phone jack be affected by the hard drive scrub? Is it in any way software-dependent? (The modem's fine...it's just the phone jack - no dial tone. Ring Central doesn't function either. No dial tone.) Thanks.
