I have an IBM Thinkpad 365XD with an external floppy drive. I would
like to be able to backup this machine to an external SCSI tape drive
using the SCSI PC Card I have. The backup software I have is Seagate
Software's Backup Exec for Win 95 version 2.0. My problem is that while
the floppy drive works just fine when the Backup Exec is not installed,
once I install it WIN95 is unable to detect the floppy drive any more.
The Device Configuration shows the floppy device is functioning properly
but whenever I try to access it it is not found. I saw you suggestion
in the Nov. 10 issue of InfoWorld but it didn't seem to apply to my
situation. Is there any way I can have Backup Exec installed and still
use my floppy disk? (By the way, I tried this same thing on a desktop
machine with a couple different tape drives (one attached to floppy
controller and one to a SCSI controller) and it did the same thing.)
