COM1 remains turned off in W95

Hi,

Whatever I try, the COM1 port on my 760EL remains turned off, it produces no
output whatsoever. The cause seems to be W95 (I'm using OSR2), because when
I run the startup diagnostics, everything goes fine, and the signal stays
up, until W95 boots.

COM1 looks fine in the device manager, with no conflicts (the modem is on
COM2, and IR on COM3).  In the Thinkpad Configuration (I use the new W95
version) the serial port is enabled. The BIOS version is 25/9/97. Turning
off power mgmt doesn't seem to work either.

Any ideas?
