No - I have to admit that I inferred that this fee is low from the fact that Xi provides a neomagic driver for their X server for free, and this server is only expensive by Linux standards.  This was sloppy of me.

In any event, I expect that if they really want to keep their proprietary information proprietary, they won't be selling it on the web!  Probably Xi had to negotiate a price with NeoMagic, and sign some pretty strong nondisclosure agreements.

BTW, someone on the thread - almost surely Paul K. - bemoaned the lack of OS/2 support; however, there *do* seem to be OS/2 drivers for most of the NeoMagic chips, posted on their web site!
