Help in Dealing with IRQ Shortages
Motherboards like the Intel PR440FX Motherboard set aside IRQs to service devices that have been integrated onto the board. This can sometimes lead to a resource shortage, which can be resolved with one of several techniques.

Microprocessors Supported
A table showing which Pentium® Pro processors to use includes solutions for both single and dual processor configurations, as well as information on when to use the Voltage Regulator Module (VRM). The Intel PR440FX Motherboard also supports the Pentium® II OverDrive® Processor.

Motherboard Fails to Boot
If your Intel PR440FX Motherboard fails to boot, check that the jumpers and switches are set properly for your configuration.

Windows* 95 with CD-ROM or Second Hard Drive
Having problems with Windows* 95 and a CD-ROM or second hard drive? There are two known issues that may be affecting your system: you may need to update Windows 95 to recognize the Intel®  82371AB PIIX4 IDE Controller, or your IDE CD-ROM may not comply with the ATAPI specification.

Disabling On-board Features
If you don't need the Intel PR440FX Motherboard integrated features, you can disable the on-board audio. The on-board LAN and SCSI cannot be disabled.
