With the XJ2144 out, I'd have to say it's the one to get for anyone
who's just coming into the PCMCIA modem market.

I believe that as long as the PCMCIA light is on, power is being
provided to your PCMCIA cards; however, I've been told by IBM
rep (on CompuServe) that the power consumption is very low while it
is inactive and not that much higher when it is active.
