D'Vegro seems to specialize in out of production models, as far as
laptops are concerned. My speculation is that Grohowski has some
contacts at IBM, which is headquartered near Raleigh, though whom
he secures quantities of abandoned product lines (like the TP701).

As for his pricing, his 701's are new, not refurbished. The extra
$100-200 is well worth the extra 1-2 years of warranty time that
would otherwise be lost if purchased used.

Lastly, the 701 still remains as a 'special commodity', and hence more
resistant to depreciation. Despite its outdated architecture, it boasts
one of the best laptop designs ever made. To the dismay of some
users, IBM has abandoned the compact butterfly keyboard technology in favor
of the new ultra-thin laptop technology (i.e. 560) in the belief that a
bigger screen is always better.

Regards,
Dave.
