I formatted and partitioned the drive the day I received the machine. Then I re-installed all the IBM goodies (MWave etc.) and finally, Win95. I've since gone through all the different MWave incarnations and various re-installs of Windows and am currently running Win98 (I'm a beta test site) and have had no major problems to speak of. If you need specific help let me know. By the way - does anyone know of a reliable source for a 755cx memory upgrade? I've got 16MB now and would like to upgrade to the max (40MB, I believe).
