'Claim' is the wrong word; you want 'admit' here.  A refurbed product is
used *by definition*.

I've also bought lots of refurbed equipment from several manufacturers;
some have cosmetic damage, some don't, some work perfectly, some have
quirks not caught by the final inspection process.  This is the price we
pay for getting a good price.  As long as the company fixes any problems
that crop up, I have no problem with it.

2 years ago I bought a top-of-the-line NEC 15" monitor from their outlet
store for $350 *including* air freight to Hawaii (about $50 worth of
shipping); it arrived with a red scratch on the beige case.  Maybe I
should have sent it back:-)
