Speaking of which, are X2 and K56 two different standards for 56k
modems? I remember way back when 14.4k was new and US Robotics
had their HST standard when everything else was v32bis and I was
wondering if USR was at it again :)

One limitation I seem to recall of the HST standard was that one
channel had the transfer rate of 14.4k while the other was limited
to 300 baud, and heard something similiar about the 56k modems that
you can transfer data at 56k one way, but only 28.8k the other
way, is this true?

Thanks for any info!
